“MODERNISM MEANS FREEDOM—FREEDOM TO MIX, TO CHOOSE, TO CHANGE,
TO EMBRACE THE NEW BUT TO HOLD FAST TO WHAT IS GOOD.”

Edward J. Wormley

OUR COLLABORATION WITH DUNBAR IS LEADING THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY TO MORE
TRANSPARENT AND CLIMATE-FRIENDLY PRACTICES.

For Meno Home Studios, we see a future where furniture is better. This is why by reducing waste, toxins and carbon, we are reshaping an industry which has immense negative impacts on people and planet; an industry that we all interact with daily - furniture.

Together with Dunbar, a legacy American furniture brand that has existed for a century, we are working towards cleaner and more transparent supply chains to yield uncompromising quality.

We are collaborating to offer some of the most iconic American designs from the Dunbar archives.
We selected the 5407 Party Sofa designed by Edward J. Wormley in 1954 as our pilot for this initiative. Now, on its seventieth anniversary, it has been constructed entirely using environmentally-friendly materials that meet clean and climate-friendly standards.

“WHAT IS DIFFERENT IS HOW WE ARE BRINGING THESE DESIGNS TO LIFE.
THE INGREDIENTS AND PROCESSES HAVE EVOLVED.

Andy Hiser, President of DUNBAR

ONE OF THE GREATEST CHALLENGES FURNITURE CONSUMERS FACE IS A LACK OF CLARITY ON EXACTLY WHY A PRODUCT IS CLAIMING TO BE ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY OR NON-TOXIC.

To address this, we are using traceability technology to track the supply chain, and to authenticate each piece from raw materials to completed design. In collaboration with Dunbar, MENO has explored innovative new technologies to streamline supply chain information, manage sustainability and circularity, and screen all ingredients against hundreds of regulation and compliance lists from both the EU and US.

We believe everyone should have access to this information, in the same way nutritional labels exist for our food. View our full material disclosure below:

Since its founding in 1910, DUNBAR is proof that authentic design expressed with craft is an honest guide through time. DUNBAR's relationship with Edward J. Wormley spanned over three decades and produced one of the most relevant and enduring contemporary design archives in history. The archive is not only a library of proven designs, but a true source of inspiration.

We hope that you are inspired by our authentic approach to the first of many of Wormley’s classic designs.
